"It's true I've been working with horses for almost eight years now but that is not nearly enough time to learn all there is to know and how to trouble-shoot all the problems that come with our equine friends. So when I ran into some serious problems with my nine year old appendix gelding, who I've had since he was almost six, I had no idea what to do.

A bad spook while tied left him always pulling back. Not to mention trailering was totally out of the question, he reared and injured an ear which also gave him ear shyness.

I needed help, but there are A LOT of scary stories out there of horses who are sent off to 'trainers'. I am sure every horse owner has heard them. So how was I supposed to know that he would be safe? I also didn't have a fortune to spend. I searched but was always held back by that fear.

Finally I came across an add from Heartwood horses and I answered 'yes' to all the trailering woes listed. I thought that's it, I can at least meet Celena who was willing to come to me and see if this would work out.

Celena was professional and brought with her a lot of patience and nothing but calmness. I don't think in the months to come I ever saw her lose her cool, which is so important when your are working with horses.

I found that Celena's methods matched my horses intensity perfectly, never going over board or pushing him into a situation he wasn't ready for. Not only that, but I hazard to say my horse looked forward to seeing her.

"My experience with Celena at Heartwood Horses started in November of 2009. A little grey mare caught my attention on the internet and I immediately fell in love with her. I then contacted Celena for more information on her. Celena was so helpful and patient during the process of making the decision to purchase the mare. She answered every question that I had and her contact with me was timely. I was not able to take the trip to Kamloops to see her, so Celena made sure that I had a wonderful video to watch and get a better feel for the mare.

I made the decision to purchase her and then had to wait to get her transported to Calgary. During that time, I got constant updates on her and pictures. The day finally arrived that Fancy would be picked up and brought to Calgary. Again, Celena stayed in touch with me the entire day. Making sure that I knew she had been loaded and was safely on her way, I even received pictures of her the day she was leaving.

Fancy arrived calm and ready for life with me. Having purchased her sight unseen, Celena made the entire process stress free and very exciting. Fancy and I have been together for almost a year now and I still get emails from Celena asking about her progress. She was well taken care of while she was at Heartwood Horses and definitely loved.
